---------------------------------------------------------- Kinkakuji 金閣寺 (Kyoto) Entrance Fee: 400yen (1st time ok, subsequent time not worth) ---------------------------------------------------------- One of the most famous Buddhist temple in Kyoto, basically was bought by this Shogun in the 12th century who decided it was a fking good idea to coat it with gold, aft he died his son convert it to a temple. Tho in 1955 some suicidal monk burnt the actual temple to a crisp together with all the artifacts inside. The one we see today is mostly a replica (the owner coat it with even more gold to attract tourists lmao). ----------------------------------------------------------- Tho its one of the most famous attraction in Kyoto, its quite underwhelming imo. Because its full of fking Chinese tourists for some fking reason (maybe cos its Gold) totally ruin the experience. If the Chinese tourist at Kiyomizu is 20% then this place is 60%. Jap Travel Post, Fushimi Inari Taisha

Kyoto's Fushimi Inari Taisha Entrance Fee: Free ----------------------------------------------------------------- Probably the most famous attraction in Kyoto and prolly the entire Japan,  if you buy a set of kyoto postcards this is prolly the 1st in the set, and if you go scroll down you fb friends list 5% of them prolly have this place as their dp background as well. "Influencers" who travel Japan will prolly come this place take some nice shots and post it with some random Jap phrases. Japan has more than one thousand shrines that worship the Inari fox god and this is the HQ of all the Inari shrines. Famous for its beautiful 千本鳥居 (thousand tori gates) that covers the entire mountain behind the main Shrine. ------------------------------------------------------------------ I rly like this place 10/10, majestic main shrine with beautiful Shindo architecture, plus a entire mountain trail entirely lined with red tori gates, gr8 vibes and amazed by how well everythin...
