Kyoto Travel: Kiyomizudera Temple
------------------------------------------------
Kiyomizu Odera 清水寺(Kyoto)
Entrance fee: Main Hall 400yen (worth)
----------------------------------------------------------
The most popular Buddhist temple in Kyoto, tied with Fushimi Inari on who should be the 1st in the Kyoto postcard collection you bought. World heritage temple built in year 778. Built on a hillside, apparently named after the waterfall within its complex, not a single nail is used during its construction (Googled it). Also house the Jishu Shrine(地主神社). Which is famous for blessing on good match and good love. However the main hall roof has been covered for renovation from 2017 to 2020 so those pic u take will prolly look like cock. Nonetheless still beautiful.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Really beautiful temple and live up to its name, the main hall, surrounded by various beautiful built ups in its surrounding form a harmonious complex. To get there you have to walk across the beautiful neighborhood surrounding the temple that lines with small but exquisite local shops selling slightly overpriced goods to rip off you stupid tourists. Plus you can only visit in the day and the crowd is kinda insane, not to mention its upslope as well. But after squeezing through the sea of tourist and took 1 or 2 insta story along the way you will be greeted by the beautiful Kiyomizu complex, the temple is only a part of it, what amazed me is the beautiful architecture in the entire complex plus you get a pretty nice view of the city, if the sky is clear 10/10 photo worthy, just need to find a spot not so flooded with tourists. You will see cute Kimono girls walking around but 80% chance tourist. The ticket is worth buying and looks super nice, plus the ticket design changes every season worth collecting and laminate to make a bookmark. You will get access to not only the main hall but a whole stretch of the beautiful compound behind. Go visit the lover shrine if you wan some blessing w ur love life, there's 2 famous lover's rocks which if you close your eyes and walk to the other 1 successfully without any1 touching u you will be blessed. The neighborhood nearby is nice to walk around and the money changer has a rly decent rate you can consider. Plus its really near CBD area so aft visit you can basically walk there for dinner.
