Jap Travel Post, Gion

--------------------------
Gion, Kyoto (祇園)
Entrance Fee: Its a district so no entrance fee
--------------------------
One of the most famous traditional district in Kyoto that has been well preserved until today built in front of the famous Yakasa Shrine. The district was originally built to accommodate travelers to the shrine in ancient times, but has evolved to become the most well known Geisha district in Japan even until today.
--------------------------
You prolly have seen Gion somewhere in movie, poster, anime, drama etc. Gion is the setting for many Japanese promotion videos, medias etc. Every shot you take here is stunningly beautiful and feels like a shot out of the movie. Walking in Gion really feels like you are in a piece of Japanese history or part of some traditional drama. However just like any famous attraction in Kyoto, Gion is crowded with tourists most of the time. However the roads are pretty wide at most of the places and if you slowly take your time to walk and explore you can find some quite corners for you to take nice pics. It houses some pretty cool traditional food, art and craft shops too that are not too overpriced(some). On top of all these Gion is pretty accessible, near the central area of Kyoto and various other attractions like Yakasa Shrine, Kiyomizu etc.
