Jap Travel Post, Osu Kannon

Nagoya Ōsu Kannon (大須観音)
Fee: Free
--------------------------
Popular Buddhist temple in central Nagoya. Originally built during the Kamakura Period (1192-1333) in neighboring Gifu Prefecture, the temple was moved to its current site by Tokugawa Ieyasu in 1612 after the original temple had been repeatedly damaged by severe flooding. The current buildings are 20th century reconstructions.

Located in the middle of Osu shopping district, one of the more famous temple of Nagoya. Home to a battalion of fking pigeon that looks nice on photo but will shit on your head. Quite a photogenic buddhist temple, a nice change of view after exploring the Osu shopping district surrounding it. Personally one of the better 'neighborhood' buddhist temple I have seen, not the biggest but I kinda like the design of buildings and usage of space.
